Didn't see a new Eredivisie Games thread so,what the heck,I'll be first. It looks like Ajax will take on Vitesse this Sunday(14:30 cet,13:30 BST, 8:30 est, 5:30..rise and shine Jim...on the left coast) without Tomas Galasek. It appears he is out at least 10 days, retroactive to Tuesday, according to what I read. The Ajax.nl article on today's practice includes Jari among the injured also.Double :-((.Just hope both are fit by the 27th.

Vitesse away is not an easy game to start with, but then PSV away at Roda isnt too clever either.
I only hope the lads will have picked themselves up for the game after the apparent shambles of Tuesday night.
What are the national/local papers saying about the fixture AFCA 1900 ?

Probably the kiss of death for Ajax - I have just put money on them to win on Sunday (at odds of 7/10) and win the Eredivisie (evens).
Also put money on Roda and Light Bulb City to draw at odds of 5/2.
They say a fool and his money are easily parted.

I am not too happy with Vitesse-away being the opening fixture, for the simple reason that so much has changed over there that it's very hard to accurately estimate their power. They almost went down last season, but that season was one big crisis for the club (near bankruptcy).
They're still in trouble, but things are a bit more quiet now. So you don't know, really: will they be as weak as last season, or will the 'peacefulness' in Arnhem allow them to perform better?
FC Utrecht is a similarly unpredictable case: many players left, but they also signed quite a few new guys. How good are they?
With Roda JC, on the other hand, you know exactly what to expect. They've kept their entire team together (except Soetaers...).
Vitesse away is a tricky away fixture and I think there would have been a fair chance of Ajax losing some points if we had played a brilliant game in Austria. Luckily we didn't and I think the team took the non-performance over there as a warning. I have a feeling that they'll play well on Sunday.

Don't worry Menno !
Roda JC - PSV : 2-2
And Roda ended the game with 9 men... Kezman is already the topscorer with 2 goals ! Sonck and Zlatan will have to work hard to beat him...
I hope they will begin against Vitesse !

Right! Here we go!
I'm all dressed up in my new away jersey (18 SNEIJDER). Now for some breakfast and then I'm off to De Meer for the departure of my bus to Arnhem. Can't wait!! Always a great moment: the start of the league. Let's get the circus started!!
GO AJAX!!!!

Lineup:
Stekelenberg
Trabelsi - Grygera - Escudé - Maxwell
Pienaar - Sneijder - vd Vaart - Soetaers
Zlatan - Sonck
So we've started in a 4-4-2 from the look of things.

Vitesse 1 - 0 Ajax
Amoah 13'
Looks like we haven't woken up yet. Keep giving the ball away in midfield and giving away easy chances at the other end.
Nigel de Jong is currently warming up.

HT: Vitesse 1 - 1 Ajax
Equalised in the 23rd via an OG.
Heaps of chances at both ends.
BTW keeper is Lobont not Stekelenberg, and it's Yakubu at right back, not Trabelsi. F@#$ing Tommy Smyth doesn't even know which teams are playing let alone the names of the players!
If only Zlatan would pass the ball...

For the record, Tommy Smyth is (1) Irish, (2) not good, and (3) 10x better than Christian Miles. Just turn the sound down and enjoy the video feed. Lucky b***ard. ;-)
Come on Ajax!!!
