This is the place to discuss official Ajax wear: home and away jerseys, training suits, kit sponsors (Adidas, Umbro, etc.) - and what have you.
Let me kick off by telling you that a brief announcement appeared in newspaper Het Parool today that next season's Ajax away jersey will be all yellow, with a little touch of grey. This was - obviously - not officially announced by Ajax and/or Adidas, but by the owners of several Amsterdam sports-stores, who were informed off-the-record by Adidas officials.
A strange moment for news of this kind... But I thought you might be interested.

Someone posted an early photograph of the new home jersey to the Ajax Talk discussion forum:
http://www.ajaxtalk.nl/forum/viewto...p?p=45891#45891
For your info: the picture was discovered on the website of a Belgian sports store, which is the reason why it actually focuses on the new Anderlecht jersey - and you can only see 50% of the Ajax one. But we kind of get the picture anyway.
- the red seems brighter than it's been in recent seasons (fine by me)
- the red bar is no longer interrupted by white shoulders (great!)
- the collar seems red with a thin white line. It is safe to assume that it will look very similar to the collar of the Anderlecht jersey.
Earlier on there was a brief announcement in Amsterdam newspaper Het Parool that the new away kit will be grey and yellow. No idea what it will look like yet.

If the bar is as it used to be, I might actually have to purchase the home shirt for next season. If the rumoured "pass the grey poupon" away shirt is the one worn, the home might be the best option. As for the collar, I am not as picky. The old red and white candy stripe collars were fine with me so I'm sure this one will be too.

I agree. The collar doesn't really matter. Some were nicer than others, of course, but it can't really ruin a jersey for me.
White shoulders (interrupted red bar) can, though... I'm glad we're getting rid of that.

Looking forward to seeing the new shirts(even the yellow and grey one). Why does the sponsor Abn-Amro always run downwards on the shirt?for a change why could it not read across the shirt like this-
Abn
Amro
I think the cape town shirts look smart with the Total sponsor on it like that,or is there an unwritten rule about this that Im not aware of?

Thank You for posting the above.I really like the new old strip. No interrupted bar, a simple collar, and no three stripes on the sleeves. In other words, a return to tradition...save for the TDK or Umbro.I'll be buying mine at the earliest opportunity once the smoke has settled and we see how the 2004-2005 squad lines out.

Now that the season is drawing to a close, this year's away shirt can be had for very little cabbage. For instance, check out this offer from The Onion Bag.
Hop on board, all you glory-hunters.

Here's an update on the new away kit...
As said before: Ajax and Adidas are still keeping it a secret, but we now know that the new away shirt will be yellow with three vertical, darker yellow bars. Just like last season it will be presented on Ajax.nl in a special animation flash presentation. Startin on Sunday 25 April @ 10:00 CET a part of the kit will be revealed each day. The uniform will be viewable in its entirety on Wednesday 28 April @ 16:00 CET on Ajax.nl.
The team traditionally wears the new away kit for the first time in the last away game of the season, but this season an exception is made: Ajax will wear the kit for the first time in the last-but-one away game at FC Zwolle on 02 May (possibly the championship winner for Ajax).
For the very first time Ajax and Adidas also present a special Champions League away kit! PSV and Feyenoord had special European away kits this season, but so far Ajax always wore the same away kit in domestic and international competition. According to a message posted to the Ajax Talk discussion forum the CL jersey will be all-black with red lettering.

So Sweet. I was gonna buy a new Home kit for next season. Looks like I'll be getting the CL jersey as well. All-Black is badass!

Right...
Two little pieces of the new away jersey were revealed on the Ajax Netwerk forum today. Based on those little fragments and the current Adidas design someone at the Ajax Talk forum created the entire jersey with Photoshop. It should kind of look like this... The bit with a part of the sponsor name in it is the original piece as published on Ajax Netwerk.
I must say I'm not too enthusiastic... I don't like the darker stripes, especially as the darker yellow kind of blurs into the lighter yellow. Don't really like that idea.
