I've recently been looking for the Ajax March. I just found the lyrics and the mp3 of the new popular version (maybe you all already know but....) :

I can promise next time I come to the ArenA I'll be able to sing heartfully AND with a decent accent (basically I'll try to listen the mp3 a lot and mimic).

Check it out! Peer at Codemasters is providing the prizes: three copies of the official Ajax video game, Ajax Club Football 2005, plus a Codemasters t-shirt to each of (up to) three winners (assuming at least 3 people can get all 10 answers right. And since Menno wrote the questions, you know they're not for lightweights.
And no cheating! There are NO questions about New Zealand Prime Ministers here, so don't even bother SMS'ing your mates.

In addition to Jim's post: I want to thank Peer @ Codemasters for contacting us. We would never have thought about doing a quiz like this one, but he contacted us with his very generous offer. All we had to do was think of a few fun questions.
Needless to say that we're not making any money out of this thing. We're still good old, independent, advertising-free Ajax USA (and always will be). Codemasters just put a few great prizes to our availability, which is great.

Are you kidding? I guessed every single one! Did you actually know the answer to all of them Menno, or did you have to look them up???
BTW Jim says "no cheating", even if I was I wouldn't know where to start ;-)

I came up with the questions because I thought they were fun questions. But in some cases (5 out of 10 or so) I had to look the answers up. I think I would have known five of the answers without doing any research.
Some creative 'googling' will help, my friends. In fact, quite a few of the answers can be found on the English version of Ajax.nl, Ajax USA here in the Ajax Zone of SoccerPages...

Yeah of course.... I guess you're a just die hard australian follower of Dutch top 50.....
Am I the only one to think that this quiz sucks ?
First because in the end it is nothing but an advertisement for a CodeMasters
(lame) game.... And I thought that Ajax USA was not about advertisement and stuff.
I know this is no OFFICIAL advertisement like "enlarge your penis" pop ups or stuff but still...
And second because you can't answer unless you are either :
* A Dutch follower (question 4 for example)
* A ****ing geek (question 7 for example)
* Chugger (no personal offence, but vaunt just annoys me)
I know I'm going to sound bitter and not in the "let's take the quiz" funny mood but I don't care, I HAD to tell you that.
Hope we'll book a good result tonight and that the atmosphere will be great...

I just re-read my post and I can see how it could be misconstrued but believe me, I wouldn't write a "vaunting" post (BTW I had to look that word up in the dictionary).

You can't seriously mean that. Codemasters contacted us, put three copies of the game to our availability (no further questions asked) and we thought it would be a nice idea to give them away by organizing a little quiz. That's all.
If you think that's advertising our ticket information is also advertising, because it will help the company AFC Ajax to sell match tickets. And our Books page would be an advert for the various publishing houses and for Amazon.com (because we provide 'buy' links to Amazon for every title). Hell, Ajax USA would actually be one big advert as a whole, because we generate enthusiasm (and kind of 'promote') AFC Ajax, which as you know is not an independent foundation or a charity, but a company.
All we're doing is giving a few games away, without making a single penny out of it. We don't even get a copy ourselves from Codemasters (not a problem, I don't even have a game computer). All we do is send the shipping info of three winners to Codemasters - and they send them a game plus a T-shirt (no further spamming in the future).
There is a Codemasters banner on the quiz page, I know. We didn't put that there because they asked us to, but because the release of an Ajax video game is actually relevant news for Ajax supporters.
(We did a news report about it when Ajax Club Football was first released, remember? Without ever having been in touch with Codemasters. We did that simply because Ajax supporters might want to know about the existence of such a game).
Also, we always try to link to as many relevant Ajax stuff as possible, so why not to the homepage of the only video game in the world exclusively about Ajax? (by the way: we don't receive money for every banner click or whatever. It's a 'clean' link). Quote:

We did not want to make it a simple quiz, so that we'd receive hundreds of 10 out of 10 quiz forms. We wanted to make it a bit tougher than that, so that giving ten correct answers would actually be an achievement. If no-one scores 10/10 we'll give the prizes to three folks who had 9/10, or 8/10, etcetera.
If you're upset by these questions then you're are either:
* a very bad loser
* a lazy loser (because the answer to question 7 can be found on Ajax.nl, even by a non-geek)
* a loser without a sense of humour
I mean: a question about silly Ajax tunes in the Dutch single charts... That's fun, innit? Slightly silly, a bit unexpected... Even if you don't know the answer. Come on, it's a little game, not a lawsuit where Justice Shall Prevail. Where's your sense of humour?
I know you're a temperamental chap with high principles, Beb. Which is a good thing, in many cases. But don't exaggerate.

Well, you probably know that statistically I and everyone else who had to guess have a 1 in 1048576 chance of getting 10/10 and winning the free game (that's assuming that IF we fluke all the correct answers no more than three people get 10/10, and that - like me - you actually knew NOTHING about any of the questions).
So if it's something you're desperately after (I don't have a games PC either) don't give up hope yet!!!
