Wonder how the guys in the locker room feel about that......or to quote a famous movie :
- "Not that there is anything wrong with that."

| Zlatan no 1 target for Betis Sevilla |

Feb 14: Zlatan is the favourite of Betis Sevilla's coach Víctor Fernandez for the next season and he is prepared to pay 15 million euros for Zlatan's signature. This is reported by Spanish paper Diario de Sevilla. The president of Sevilla committed himself to invest for the coming season and the coach left him a name upon the table, only one: Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

They way Zlatan has been speaking in media the last couple of weeks it seems he is very contend with staying with Ajax. I don't really see anything that speeks for him actually leaving the club.
He has repeatedly said that he is developing well in the club, that he is very happy eith Koeman, that he enjoys his teammates, that he now has adjusted well to the 4-3-3 system etc etc.
I think we'll be seeing Zlatan in Ajax for ATLEAST another season.

I really don't know what to think in this matter. Today we learn that Betis has made a concrete offer for Zlatan and that AS Roma president Franco Sensi stated again yesterday that he intends to bring Zlatan to the the club, this time in March.
Considering that these two clubs are figthing for his signature and that Ajax cannot ignore the transfer sums we are talking about here, it is not unlikely that he will move after the season.
On the other hand, he enjoys Ajax and is developing here. He gets plenty of time on the pitch and should be wise enough to not place himself in a position were he will be stuck on the bench. He has seen enough of the bench last season to teach him a lesson. And there are plenty of Swedes that have been placed on the bench after moving to England for example. This points to him staying in Amserdam.
Also, at least one of the alternatives as forwards are not exactly behaving like a potential Ajax no 9. I am talking about the resent suspension of Mido to the reserve team.

I read Zlatan comments on the matter and he said that he doesn't want to dicuss eventual bids but that he has a strong feeling that he still has things to achieve in Holland with Ajax.
I don't think he'll go.

It seems that the Roma bosses are doing their level best to win for their club the Most Annoying Club of the year award. Witness the latest comments about buying Zlatan in March. I guess that when your club SUCKS (9th in league, 0 for the 2nd Group phase thus far,etc..),you've got to make headlines somehow.

Problem with Roma is - they don't need another striker! They've gotten the same germ Liverpool suffers from - all quality players that come together and underachieve. Whith Ajax the players together add up to more than then sum of the individual talent -because of good team spirit and teamplay. With Roma and Liverpool it's the opposite.
I believe the Roma president just wants to show that he has continuing ambitions for the club - by saying that he will strngthen the squad.

Zlatan is providing fuel for the upcoming Arsenal combat by revealing that he was insulted by Arsene Wenger's offer for him to come to Arsenal on trial two years ago. Zlatan said that "Arsenal will pay when they come to Amsterdam" and that "he wants to show them what they missed".
Sounds like we are in for a bit of the good old Zlatan Zhow, don't you think?

From what I read in the Sunday papers yesterday Zlatan was offered a trial by Arsenal just before he signed with Ajax. To Wenger, manager of a big English team this, would appear to be a generous offer, and an opportunity for an ambitious unproven young player. His response to (a somewhat confused) Wenger was "Zlatan doesn't do trials!".
Classic Zlatan to be sure!
Let's home his actions speak as loudly as his words on Wednesday.....in the away game my sense was that he was marked out of the game to be honest.....

There was more to that interest than just trials being offered. Zlatan was invited, and went, to London about 3 months prior to his Ajax signing. He was shown around the club facilities the arena and so on. Before he departed for Sweden he was given a no9 shirt with Ibrahimovic printed on the back......I think Wenger was pretty interested.
On the trials comment thing....sure he could have said that - 2 years ago he always said those kinds of things to the Swedish media. Always joking a little bit - but also always partly meaning what he said.
His head was quite big but the latest year, we can say since the World Cup he's been more focused on football, giving a more mature impression in interviews etc. etc.
Lets see how he copes with playing 2 shitty games in a row.

Two Zlatan-related tidbits in Footballnl.com: One, Ajax is looking to open negotiations with Zlatan on an improved contract. Zlatan is quoted as saying one more year at Ajax is good for his development. Two, Zlatan is keen to show Arsenal what they are missing in the Wednesday fixture.

Zlatan quote from Planet Football today.
- I have learned a lot already at Ajax and I feel that I can learn even more, so I'm not looking to go to another team. I have a lot of faith in this team and, with Ajax discussing new contracts,
it shows me that they want to continue with this squad.
